WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHEMICAL AND ORGANIC FERTILIZERS AND WHICH IS BETTER? By: GuanoBoost 2023. (Research summary by a UK farmer and an Indian agricultural company) And carefully edited by me without any single alteration… Engr. John Joseph Chidubem.
So, it is a question we often get asked
"what is the difference between chemical and organic fertilizers and more importantly for you; which is better?"

The reality is, because your lawn and farm lands are of living organic things, it can be very easy to damage. There are several causes of dead or brown spots in lawns and farm lands from dog urine to chemicals to simple human error, such as incorrect mowing to name a few examples. Repairing dead spots on your lawn and farm lands come in two broad parts.
THE DIFFERENCES IN DEFINITION:
A Chemical fertilizer is defined as any inorganic material of wholly or partially synthetic origin that is added to soil to sustain plant growth.

Organic fertilizers are substances that are derived from the remains or byproducts of natural organisms which contain the essential nutrients for plant growth.
There are many, many differences between the two products, but if I was to summarize the key differences its:- Chemical and synthetic fertilizers feed the plant or grass directly but over time deplete the soil whereas; Organic fertilizers feed the soil with long term nutrients and trace minerals and materials which in turn feeds the plants and lawn in a sustainable manner.
Put even more simply:
CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS = SOIL DEPLETION = VERY BAD.
ORGANIC FERTILIZERS = SOIL ENRICHMENT = VERY GOOD.
However, there are significant differences between organic and chemical fertilizers in terms of nutrient availability and the long-term effects on soil, plants, and the environment.
So how does a conscientious farmer decide?
Ok, let’s go a step deeper into understanding the differences between Chemical and Organic Fertilizers.
Naturally, because organic fertilizer is 100% organic, we are biased… But on the basis of the above facts, it is clearer that Organic Fertilizers are much better option for your lawn and farm's long term than chemical fertilizers.
Here are some final advantages, if you are not fully convinced yet:-
ADVANTAGES OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER:

- As organic fertilizer break down, they improve the structure of the soil and increases its ability to hold water and nutrients.
- Organic fertiliser will make your soil, plants healthy and strong.
- Organic fertilisers release essential nutrients to your soil,
allow for a better metabolism or nitrates in your lawn and farms. - It produces stronger cell walls in grass which leads to resistance to mould fungus attack.
- It ensures more upright stems and open leaves enhancing photosynthesis.
- Causes and increases in soil microfauna.
Since they are the ultimate slow-release fertilisers, it’s very difficult to over fertilise (and harm) your plants. - There’s little to no risk of toxic buildup of chemicals and salts that can be deadly to plants.
- Organic fertilizers are renewable, biodegradable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
- Organic fertilizer regenerates unfertile lands to fertility if properly applied in good rationed quantity.
- It doesn't have any damage effect to human health.
If you are interested in proving your lawn and farms with a 100% organic fertilizer; make some serious move now to join the campaign to stop the use of inorganic fertilizer over our land, farms lands and also take unhindered step to start practicing the use of organic fertilizer henceforth.

With the continuous use of organic fertilizer products you’ll see improvement in the quality and health of your soil, lawn, farm and human health off course without the use of chemical fertilizers.
The most important initial step is to start applying a natural organic fertilizer. I mean a 100% Organic fertilizer.
